Underground Buoyancy Anchoring

Gripple’s Underground Buoyancy Anchoring kit is a solution which has been specifically engineered to prevent all uplift in any MEP services which are at risk of flotation.

The Underground Buoyancy Anchoring kit is attached to below-ground conduit banks/pipelines to protect against all flotation. An Underground Buoyancy Anchor is driven into the ground using lightweight tools, before using the anchor’s design and ‘flip’ to ‘load-lock’ into the soil’s engineering properties. The anchor is then attached directly to the conduit card/spacer, or by using a support bracket as a reinforcement method, and uses the D3 Lockable Plus as a tensioning mechanism – ensuring complete control over any uplift despite considerably less materials than traditional methods.

  • Versatile – the Underground Buoyancy Anchors are specifically designed with a narrow frontal profile for ease of install and a wide top profile to maximise load capabilities – meaning that they are suitable for most ground types.
  • Lightweight – the kits are supplied as a lightweight out-of-the-box solution which can be installed using lightweight tools.
  • Undisruptive – the ground’s engineering properties can be accessed with minimal soil disturbance which therefore maintains the strength of the trench walls.
  • Strong – the kits fully protects against all upward forces.
  • Compatibility - the variety of installation methods ensure that the kits are fully compatible with all conduit banks/pipelines.
