Sustainability Success Leads to Double Awards Shortlist
We’re proud to announce that we have been shortlisted for two Yorkshire Sustainability Excellence Awards.
Organised by TheBusinessDesk.com, in partnership with Clarion, Deloitte and the Swinton Estate, the awards recognise Yorkshire businesses that are making permanent and positive changes to their environmental impact.
The first category we have been shortlisted in is ‘Large Business’, which recognises the success of sustainability policies in businesses with a £50m+ turnover. Sustainability is one of our core strategic pillars and this nomination is a testament to the success and effectiveness of our corporate sustainability roadmap, which has already led us to achieve carbon neutrality across our UK operations.
The second category we have been shortlisted in is ‘Social Impact in Sustainability.’ This award celebrates businesses that have not only achieved environmental goals but have also positively impacted their local communities or underprivileged groups.
As one of our core attributes, giving back to our communities is important to the whole team here at Gripple. During 2023 alone, our teams raised £28k for our chosen charity “Create a Dream Foundation” and individual fundraising for personal charities topped £25k. The business’ 1% of profits pledge, delivered through the Gripple Foundation, enabled an additional £110k to be distributed to 100 different causes during the year whilst six major projects were undertaken by staff who gave their time to benefit community and environmental projects.
Tasha Lyth, Sustainability Manager at Gripple said, “We are thrilled that the success and positive impact of our comprehensive sustainability strategy is being acknowledged at such a respected level. We are committed to becoming climate positive and to supporting the communities surrounding our sites. We work hard to ensure that we fulfil these commitments each day and our achievements speak for themselves; well done to everyone at Gripple for making such an important impact on our world.”
The winners of the awards will be announced at a ceremony on 18th April.
