Gripple Welcomes World Renowned Industrialist Juergen Maier CBE to Old West Gun Works
Reinforcing our commitment to advanced manufacturing and innovation, Gripple recently welcomed esteemed industrialist and advocate for the manufacturing community, Juergen Maier CBE to visit the Old West Gun Works site in Sheffield.
The visit, which included a tour of our factory, as well as presentations from key members of the business, marks a highlight in Gripple's ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing.
Showcasing the benefits of vertical integration, automation, and employee-ownership, Juergen was able to experience, firsthand, exactly what life at Gripple is like, and the progress we are continuing to make in our advanced manufacturing journey.

Juergen Maier is the former Chief Executive of Siemens UK. A position he held for more than 5 years. Now, as the Chair of Digital Catapult, the co-founder of vocL – a platform for responsible business voices, and Vice-Chair of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership where he advocated for the green re-industrialisation of the North of England, Juergen takes a strong leadership role in the UK's industrial and manufacturing community. He was awarded a CBE in the New Year's honours list in 2019.
