Gripple Shortlisted for Three Made in Sheffield Awards
Recognising the incredible talent and hard work taking place here at Gripple, we’re thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted for not just one but THREE Made in Sheffield Awards.
Celebrating excellence in manufacturing, Made in Sheffield Awards are awarded to businesses across South Yorkshire who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to world-class quality and distinction.
Sustainable/Ethical Manufacturer Award
Reinforcing the success and impact of our sustainability roadmap and ongoing climate positive initiatives, the first award we’re delighted to have been shortlisted for is the Sustainable/Ethical Manufacturer Award.
We’re committed to being climate positive and our teams are working hard to achieve this. Thanks to the many positive changes we have made, our UK operations are now carbon neutral and we are supporting the wider industry to achieve the same; taking part in the Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers (CIBSE) TM65 carbon capture and methodology initiative to support contractors and specifiers to select low carbon solutions.

Apprentice of the Year
Our star apprentice Bradley Healey, has also been shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year. Hugely deserved, Bradley had made an outstanding contribution to our business whilst also studying Product Design and Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University.
With the goal of becoming technical tooling manager, Bradley has had a broad exposure to relevant areas of our business, responsible for the management of millions of pounds worth of mould and press tools, improving the energy consumption of our injection moulding machines, managing the procurement of new mould tools and successfully introducing an improved scheduling and trialling system as part of that process. He has also developed an innovative clamp assembly fixture using electrical continuity rather than torque which will be used on all future fixtures.
A real team player, Bradley has also supported us to promote careers in manufacturing at Gripple through school visits and careers fairs and has raised an amazing £1,500 as part of fundraising for the refurbishment of the rugby club where he plays.
“I’m so pleased to have been shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year. I am learning so much in my role at Gripple. It is a fantastic business to be a part of and I am grateful for the support and guidance from my colleagues and mentors who have helped me to thrive in my career.”
