Double award win for Gripple!

We are delighted to announce that Gripple won two awards at this year’s Insider Media ‘Made in Sheffield’ Awards!

The awards ceremony was held at The Cutlers’ Hall in Sheffield on Thursday 28^th April 2022. On the night, we took home the ‘Sustainable/Ethical Manufacturer of the Year’ award and the ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award was won by Gripple Automation’s Ellis Bloomer.

Alex Smith, Gripple Ltd’s Marketing Manager for the UK & Ireland commented on the award win, stating “It's brilliant to win an award that highlights our sustainable culture. We recently became a CLC CO₂nstruct Zero Business Champion, further highlighting Gripple’s ongoing environmental commitments as a business. This followed the launch of our ‘Journey to Climate Positive’ which will see us reach a carbon-neutral position across our UK operations in 2022 and achieve carbon neutrality across the global business in 2023.”

Upon winning the ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award, the judges described Ellis Bloomer as being "well ahead of the curve" and highlighted his recent volunteering efforts in Tanzania. Well done Ellis!

Speaking on Ellis’ success, Craig Bagnall, Production Manager at Gripple Automation said “Ellis thoroughly deserved the award. His maturity, drive and determination is a real credit to someone so young.  He never shirks from any task and puts 100% into everything he does.  He’s no longer seen as an apprentice within Automation and stands out as a key player within the team.  We are all very proud of him and we’re looking forward to watching him continue to develop over the coming years."

As well as a deserved recognition for Ellis himself, this award is a fantastic example of how the Gripple apprenticeship scheme brings in and develops young talent and people who could become future leaders in the business.
