2017 year in review: Gripple features on BBC's ‘The One Show’ – February

We were delighted to welcome Nick Hewer and a team from the BBC in the Spring of 2016 to our headquarters in Sheffield, The Old West Gun Works, to film a piece about our business. Hewer interviewed our founder and chairman, Hugh Facey at length about his vision for the business, innovation, the employee ownership model and building a sustainable business that thrives in Yorkshire.

The show aired on BBC1 on 15th February to an estimated audience of 4.5m people; the feature was introduced by presenter, Matt Baker, who said: “Let’s now restore your faith in British bosses. This inventor and boss had thrown away the rule book and handed over the company to his staff. He has even scrapped the retirement age. What a company!”
