Quality Engineer

What is the role

Working within the wider quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in our production processes and final products.  You will work with multiple departments across the business to implement quality management systems, conduct inspections, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.  Other duties include:

  • supporting production on a day-to-day basis with quality issues
  • coordinating IQs (internal queries), PQs (customer complaints), stock non-conformances
  • working alongside production to understand root causes and help identify corrective and preventative actions
  • developing, managing and analysing quality KPIs to identify areas for improvements, reduce quality cost and improve overall efficiency
  • ensuring equipment and processes follow predetermined quality standards
  • working alongside the supply quality analyst to overcome non-compliance issues with components
  • supporting new product introduction (NPI) process and ensuring quality elements are implemented prior to sign off
  • coordinating products and process FMEAs
  • ensuring compliance with ISO9001 requirements
  • conducting internal quality audits and inspections to establish level of compliance and identify improvement opportunities

Working hours 

Mon - Fri 8.30am - 5.00pm (core office hours of 7.00am-7.00pm Monday-Friday).

Who you are

To be considered for the position, you must be able to offer the following:

  • Strong understanding of quality management principles, tools, methodologies (ISO9001, 8D, Ishikawa, FMEA, Six Sigma)
  • Proven experience as a quality engineer in manufacturing environment
  • A keen eye for detail/accuracy and methodical approach
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to quality improvement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Ability to work unsupervised with minimum supervision
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing is desirable (but not essential)​
