Injection Moulding Setter

We are now looking for an injection moulding setter to join the Gripple operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, hard-working individual capable of working both as part of a team and on their own.

The role

Reporting to the injection moulding team leader and based at our Don Road site, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our injection moulding machines. You will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting machines, ensuring that production runs smoothly, safely, and to the highest quality standards. Additional tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • setting up and adjusting injection moulding machines to meet production requirements.
  • ensuring correct moulds, materials, and machine settings are in place before production.
  • troubleshooting and resolving machine/tooling faults during production runs.
  • responsibility for tooling/machine efficiencies, including SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Dies) and OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency).
  • monitoring production runs and adjusting settings to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • collaborating with production teams to meet targets and deadlines.
  • reporting and documenting any issues, downtime, or adjustments needed.

Working hours 

The position will entail working regular mornings and afternoons, Monday – Friday on an alternating shift pattern. Night shift and weekend work may also be required to meet the demands of the business, and you may also be required to help in other areas on site. A flexible, ‘can do’ attitude is therefore paramount.

Who you are?

To be considered for an interview, you must have:

  • proven experience as an Injection Moulding Setter or similar role.
  • strong technical knowledge of injection moulding processes and machinery.
  • ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine/tooling related issues.
  • experience with quality control.
  • knowledge of health and safety practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • good analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work on own initiative.
  • a high level of IT literacy, including knowledge of ERP systems, Excel and Outlook
  • experience in managing projects to completion.
  • an organised approach and ability to cope well under pressure.
