Packing Team Leader

We are looking for a packing team leader to join the Gripple operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, hard-working individual capable of working both as part of a team and on their own.

The role

Reporting to the senior packing team leader and based at our Old West Gun Works site, you will have responsibility for safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing processes, ensuring all products are manufactured in line with company and customer requirements.

You will lead and motivate a team of packing operatives in line with company values, providing support to achieve 100% efficiency and high levels of customer service to achieve a delivery target of 99% and above. You will be responsible for ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders, labour targets, order planning and stock levels for the department. Additional tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • ownership of department KPIs such as Labour Measures, Quality, Efficiencies, H&S and 5S
  • first stage labour management  
  • first stage people development and performance management  
  • team development & succession planning
  • identifying and developing initiatives to progressively improve the processes within the department in line with the businesses five-year plan 
  • monitoring of stock movements and ensuring stock accuracy 
  • hosting daily Production Meetings and weekly Team Meetings
  • developing initiatives to progressively improve the processes and efficiencies within the department
  • supporting and creating strategic improvements within the department
  • identifying training requirements within the team and the resolution of any people issues
  • providing support to new products
  • monitoring stock movements & levels

Working hours 

The position will entail working regular mornings and afternoons, Monday – Friday on an alternating shift pattern. Night shift and weekend work may also be required to meet the demands of the business and you may also be required to help in other areas on site. A flexible, ‘can do’ attitude is therefore paramount.
