Overtightening the GP90™ at the bolt will likely begin to crush the boundary cable. This would require a tremendous amount of force and a person experienced in wire/cable structure erection should be able to tell when enough tension has been applied.

No. Releasing the GP90™ under tension is dangerous. If tension needs releasing from the cross wire it should be cut (in a safe manner) and then repaired with the corresponding Gripple Joiner. Tension can then be reapplied at the joiner or the GP90 depending on user preference.

The GP90™ features a clamping bolt that prevents slide along the boundary cable or bar.

No, the more tension/weight that is applied to the GP90™, the more it will grip the wire. Should crop loads or wind force stretch the wire, tension can easily be re-applied with our tensioning tool.

Gripple has been manufacturing high performance, market-leading agricultural wire joiners for 30 years. This experience has been harnessed in the design of GP90™. During GP90™testing, the product was tensioned to a 400Kg (880lbs) working load, increased to a 600Kg (1320lbs) maximum load and back down to working load, in a cycle lasting six minutes. This cycle was repeated 225 times, to replicate the cyclic loading associated with 25 years of hail storms in Nebraska, Colorado. This is supplemented by salt spray testing to replicate 25 years of corrosion, as well as tensometer pull testing for both instant and sustained loading.
