Fencing competition winners selected
Hundreds of fencing contractors entered a competition this year run by Gripple, each with the chance of winning over £500 worth of fencing products. Torwood Fencing Company, Perry Landscape Services and BW Field & Partners were all selected as lucky winners, and each were presented with a selection of Gripple wire-joining products, as well as high quality fencing materials kindly provided by ArcelorMittal, McVeigh Parker and Tornado Wire.
Carl Paget, of Torwood Fencing, is a long-time fan of Torando Wire, having used both their Hi-Tensile Tornado Titan and Flex joints for years. Based in Stirling in Scotland, Torwood have had a busy year, utilising their in-house training programme to develop skills. Working in commercial, industrial and agricultural fencing, as well as timber, they have also used Gripple products in the past, but are new-comers to the Gripple T-Clip end-post terminator. Carl went on to say, “We haven’t had the chance to use them on a job yet, but we’ve seen them around. They’re a fantastic idea and solution. I can see our guys really liking them, especially with the time and effort saved compared to tying off.”
Perry Landscape Services are a Wiltshire company established by Dean Perry in 2002, and are involved in all aspects of landscaping. The year so far had proved to be a good one, as they are finding less people are moving and therefore choosing to spend money developing what they already have. Dean said he is keen to try out McVeigh Parker’s XFence with Xtralife wire and the Gripple T-Clip.
Hertfordshire-based BW Field & Partners have been in the business for over forty years. Contractor Alistair White expressed how he is looking forward to using UK manufacturer, ArcelorMittal 2Life stockfence. He went on to say “The only way to ensure profit is to become more efficient. We always carry Gripples as they are excellent for fence repairs especially when used with the Gripple tensioning tool. They are excellent for quick joints when we are doing stock fencing, as there is no quicker and more efficient way of joining and tensioning.”
